Synterra Media Increases Share of Traditional and New Technological Directions
Synterra Media, a digital partner in the production, processing, and delivery of media content, has summarized the main results for 2024. The number of TV operators connected to its national media network has increased by more than 80%, while the number of signals being generated and broadcast (playout) has risen by 85% compared to 2023.
For 18 years, Synterra Media has been forming an ecosystem of solutions for the technological challenges of the media industry, servicing key stages of television production and media content distribution. The number of signals generated and broadcast has increased by 85% compared to 2023. By the end of 2024, Synterra Media launched over 60 TV channels.
In 2024, the number of TV operators, streaming services, online cinemas, and OTT platforms connected to the national media network increased by a record 80% compared to 2023. This growth was facilitated by the expansion of Synterra Media's networks, the connection of new access points in major cities, regional centers, and small towns across Russia, as well as the speed of connection at points of presence. Today, the national media network covers 11 time zones and all regional capitals. A key feature of the network is its high fault tolerance, achieved through automatic route adjustments and connecting each node via at least two physical routes that are not connected to the Internet.
The traditional direction of organizing live broadcasts for Synterra Media has increased by 12% due to the expansion of the company's network to key venues such as sports arenas, concert halls, and locations for strategically significant forums. For instance, in March, Synterra Media organized the transmission of TV signals for federal television companies from the international multi-sport esports tournament «Games of the Future 2024», and in July, it provided a live broadcast of the Main Naval Parade for Navy Day in St. Petersburg for a major federal broadcaster.
One of the key new directions in 2024 has been the provision of AI-based services to media market participants. The project started in September and has quickly become highly sought after among broadcasters, with Synterra Media collaborating with virtually all key TV holdings in Russia. Using AI, the company is developing services such as dubbing and voiceover (translation and audio dubbing in more than 65 languages), subtitling (transcribing and translating video and broadcast recordings into over 140 languages), virtual hosts (creating models for generating realistic video avatars), and metadata enrichment (persons, objects, locations, scenes, text).
JSC «Synterra Media» is a digital partner in the production, processing, and delivery of media content. The company has developed expertise in servicing key stages of television production and media content distribution: delivery of video content for TV production (contribution), global distribution of TV programs for broadcasters and operators of terrestrial/satellite/cable/IPTV/OTT networks, live event broadcasting, data processing and storage in the «Media Center», as well as the development and implementation of new technologies for the delivery, distribution, and monetization of media content.
